The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 exam scheduled .As per the latest notice dated October 19, 2025, the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will be conducted between January 21 and January 30, 2026, while Session 2 is scheduled from April 1 to April 10, 2026.The registration for Session 1 will begin in October 2025, whereas the Session 2 registration window will open in the last week of January 2026. NTA aims to make the registration process seamless through a newly introduced auto-fetch feature from UIDAI, ensuring accurate candidate data and minimizing errors.
Through this examination, candidates will qualify for admissions to B.E/B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses in top NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, and also serve as the qualifying test for JEE Advanced 2026.

Registration Process & Aadhaar Update
The major change in the JEE Main 2026 registration is the integration of the UIDAI-based Aadhaar auto-fetch feature. The system will automatically pull essential candidate details such as name, gender, date of birth, photograph, and address from the Aadhaar database to simplify the form-filling process and prevent discrepancies.
However, candidates will still need to manually enter details such as father’s or mother’s name as these are not recorded in Aadhaar. NTA clarified that in case of a mismatch between the candidate’s name on the Aadhaar card and the Class 10th marksheet, an edit option will be available to correct the discrepancy before final submission.
The public notice also clarified that candidates will continue to have city preferences for exam centres, contrary to rumors suggesting otherwise. Moreover, NTA confirmed that it is increasing the number of exam cities to ensure better accessibility, especially for PwD and PwBD candidates.

- Registration: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on the JEE Main 2026 registration link. Select ‘New Candidate Registration’ and complete the basic details.
- Form Filling: Log in using the registered credentials and fill all personal, educational, and communication details carefully.
- Document Upload: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other required certificates as per the format.
- Fee Payment: Pay the JEE Main application fee using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
- Confirmation: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
